FARCET PARISH COUNCIL
CEMETERY REGULATIONS
Farcet Cemetery is designed as a “lawn cemetery” which
means that all graves have flat grassed surfaces and only
headstone type memorials are permitted. No flower vases,
flowers, plants, shrubs etc. may be placed or planted on or
around graves, other than in a receptacle for flowers
approved by the Parish Council as part of a permanent
memorial. The Parish Council will remove any such items,
as soon as they come to their attention,.
Farcet Parish Council, being the burial authority for the Parish, have
also agreed:-
1. No memorial may be erected until six months after the burial.
Before a memorial is erected, the design and size has to be
approved by the Parish Council. No kerbs, railings or chippings
shall be included within any memorial.
2. One heavy vase or container for flowers, with the approval of the
Parish Council, is allowed in place of a memorial stone.
This to be positioned in line with other memorials in the same row.
3. The grave area, other than the area covered by the memorial
shall be covered only with grass.
4. Dead flowers, wreaths and other items must be disposed of in
the container provided in the cemetery.
5. No artificial flowers are allowed in the cemetery other than
Christmas wreaths and silk flowers.
The Council will remove any Christmas wreaths still remaining
on graves by the end of January.
6. The new Burial of Ashes area is surrounded by grass. The only
design of flat stone is one which is 45cm X 45cm and has an
integral flower vase.
No additional vases, plants or bulbs are allowed
